Images inspired from below the surface, and beyond it.
Bryce is a fine art photographer located in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He is an active member of the local scuba diving community, and is an avid supporter of marine conservation and education. Bryce has been a dive industry professional for over a decade and loves to spend his free time travelling the world photographing its reefs, landscapes, and their inhabitants.
Growing up all over the southeastern United States, Bryce experienced a wide variety of southern art, culture, and cuisine. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and has fond childhood memories of Cajun and Creole flavors, sights, and sounds. He lived in Slidell, Louisiana, where he first spent time on the water fishing with his father, as well as Baton Rouge. Bryce spent a few years in Opelika, Alabama that turned out to be quite influential in his life, and he graduated high school in Thomasville, Georgia; home of the annual Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival, Victorian Christmas, and is dubbed “Georgia’s City of Roses.” It was in Thomasville that Bryce first trained to scuba dive, and with great appreciation for his father’s influence, he fell in love with the oceans. After high school, Bryce attended the University of West Georgia and moved to the Florida Keys to become a scuba instructor. It was here, in Marathon, Florida where Bryce united his loves for photography and the underwater world.
Bryce’s passion for capturing images began at an early age, in a 4th grade exploratory elective, where he was fortunate enough to participate in a black and white film photography class. The course allowed students to capture images on film, develop their negatives, and process final prints in a darkroom setting. It was an incredible opportunity for a young photographer in Opelika, Alabama. A little time passed, digital imaging became standard, and Bryce went on to become a photographer in a more professional setting. He worked as a portrait photographer for a major theme park, shot for many weddings and events, does studio portraiture, as well as headshots and product photography for professionals.
After Florida, Bryce moved with his wife, Tara to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Living in Hawaii is a prime habitat for artistic inspiration. There is beauty everywhere you look, from the sea, to the shore, to the summits, to the sky. Seeing the stars from the Milky Way, shining so brightly atop the summit of Mauna Kea, is the moment Bryce decided to pursue astrophotography. Hawaii has one of the darkest skies on the planet, which makes it an ideal location to photograph and observe the night sky.
Bryce is available for private and corporate portrait sessions, professional headshots, private underwater photography classes, and maintains a collection of fine art prints available for purchase. Use the contact us tab to inquire about services.
